Roots of Creation
Roots of creation is an emerging collective currently made up of Black Nova Scotian artists and educators; we strive to provide Black and other IBPoC youth with alternative ways of learning about self and community through accessible arts training and experiences. The collective was founded in spring of 2022 and currently has three core members; Riel Reddick-Stevens (theatre artist and educator), Alondrea Johnston (arts organizer, community activist) and Brianna Willis (Educator, Student Researcher).
Since 2023 we have held one big solo workshop, 3 workshops in partnership with Neptune Theatre School and have sent over 50 Black youth and community members to various arts events in Nova Scotia!
Right now we are in the middle of rebranding and searching for funding for ongoing programming!
If interested in partnering or having us come do a workshop please reach out to us at Rootsofcreationns@gmail.com
